We’ve just announced the launch of a brand-new, one-day, multi-venue music festival set to transform Ipswich town centre into a vibrant celebration of local and regional live music.

Taking place on Saturday 25th April, the festival is free to attend thanks to funding from Ipswich Central, the Business Improvement District (BID), and will be across the heart of the town-centre. From pubs to community hubs, you’ll find music and art across seven fantastic venues: Three Wise Monkeys, CHIp Studios, Arcade Tavern, Halberd Inn, Thomas Wolsey Pub, the empty Superdry unit in the Buttermarket, and our own The Church.

Over 40 artists are set to take the stage across the day, curated and programmed by us. Whether you’re a local music fan or just looking for a fun day out, there’s something for everyone.

A big thank you to Ipswich Central, our headline sponsor, and to Arts Council England, PRS Foundation, and University of Suffolk for their support in bringing this celebration to life.

Along with our recently announced Baths Regeneration Project, the festival is a part of our wider mission of supporting and retaining local talent, engaging with local communities and supporting the creative ecosystem in Ipswich.

Marcus Neal, Head of Programming at Brighten The Corners, said: “This ambitious new event gives audiences the opportunity to discover over 40 regional artists in seven town centre venues, free of charge.

“Our Apply To Play scheme will ensure we have the broadest possible spread of local artists to showcase and the multi-venue format allows us to give plenty of opportunities for young people to gain experience in backstage roles. We’re proud to continue contributing to the creative eco-system here in Ipswich, and so grateful to Ipswich Central for connecting us with brilliant local, music-loving local venues, which we can’t wait to see packed out for our first ever BTC All-Dayer.”

Lee Walker, CEO of Ipswich Central, said: “We are excited to be working with the team at Brighten The Corners to bring an exclusive live music celebration to the town centre that’s totally free for all to enjoy, promising to be a fantastic celebration of live, local music.

“The festival will generate significant footfall, support the local economy and encourage local people to visit independent venues and businesses on their doorstep.”

We’ve just opened our Apply To Play opportunity, providing a platform for emerging regional artists to join the line up.
