Cafe, Bar, Records

Relax in the unique, beautiful setting of The Church, an independent cafe and bar in Ipswich, with quality coffee, Adnams beer on tap, and browse Hex Record Shop.

Come and enjoy a pit stop whilst out and about in town, or to bring your friends to hang out in our laid-back space with the best sound system and playlist in Ipswich.

Cafe & Bar

Ipswich’s coolest cafe for creatives, like minded music lovers and appreciators of damn good coffee.

Coffee is a big thing for us. Ours is supplied by our favourite independent artisan coffee roastery Etude, based in the north of Suffolk in Bungay. They carefully roast with highest-quality single-origin green beans and are committed to working with farmers. This ensures not only exceptional flavour, but fair pay for everyone involved in the supply chain.

The cafe serves a variety of drinks using our specialty beans as well as a selection of herbal teas, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages for you to enjoy sitting in or as a take away. We pride ourselves on delivering great drinks and getting to know our customers and their tastes (and carefully curating the best playlists in Ipswich to soundtrack the cafe!)

As well as coffee, we have a variety of Adnams ales on tap which are freshly brewed locally in Southwold, a selection of red and white wines, and canned / bottled beers for you to choose from. We rotate our amazing selection of pastries, cakes, and snacks at The Church to keep you hungry for more.

Record Shop & Vinyl

A place to connect with likeminded music lovers, crate diggers, and to find your new favourite artist.

The Church is home to independent record store Hex Record Shop, run by Brighten The Corners Programme Manager Marcus Neal, selling new and second hand vinyl.

Music is at the heart of everything we do. Vinyl Communion is a weekly event presenting local vinyl DJs and selectors. Strictly vinyl-only, The Church is powered by our stellar sound system and SL-1200 turntables. Come down to The Church to cleanse your soul with good music, wine, beer, nibbles shared with music lovers. With a different guest DJ each Thursday, we spotlight fresh new and established names; a platform for DJs to show their talent. Vinyl all night. Good vibes always.
