New Gen
New Gen is a free youth music project for young people aged 13 - 19, supporting interests in performance, songwriting, music technology and beat-making. Whether someone is just starting out on their musical journey or arrives with more developed skills there is space for everyone to learn and collaborate alongside like-minded peers.
Alongside developing musical interests, New Gen helps young people grow in confidence, make friends, and build stronger connections with their communities.
Our experienced tutors all have real-world music industry experience and work to keep young people at the centre of planning and decision-making. We prioritise creating a safe and inclusive space where participants are encouraged to try new things, take creative risks and develop their talents beyond their comfort zones.
New Gen is delivered in partnership with Brighten The Corners and Ipswich Community Media, and is made possible thanks to Suffolk Community Foundation funding.
