Smoothgroove is an avante garde DJ who can turn a connoisseur’s selection into a dynamic mix. Established as a guitarist and songwriter in the 1980s post punk scenes playing across Southern France and into Ipswich and East Anglia, he joined the early House and Techno movement into Europe as a DJ/ promoter. Trip E.Lights became Smoothgroove, and Offworld his vision. He designed and implemented tours including artist and music promotion and occasionally art and fashion on the Cote ‘d Azur, in Amsterdam, Berlin and Prague, London and New York taking on club and radio residencies.
Smoothgroove is usually at the forefront of influential new genres extending DJ techniques and working hardware and sometimes performers transforming sets into live shows.
Kevin Searle. Techno, Electronica, House, Drum & Bass, Hip-Hop, Boogie, Pop, Balearic, Downtempo, Funk... passionately restless.
Mat "Matski" Gould has been buying and playing records for a large chunk of his life. The first record he bought was in 1982, George Clinton - Atomic Dog, and he still has it in his collection. Discovering the Street Sounds Electro series soon after was a pivotal moment, which was quickly followed by listening to hip-hop.
A few years later it was all about techno from Detroit and Europe, and then the bleep movement coming out of England. That led to hardcore, rave, and jungle/drum and bass.
All these genres, and lots more, still get bought and played today.Yebsie's love of Jungle and UK Garage began after being introduced to pirate radio when visiting a friend's Dad in Vauxhall aged 16. Since then he has been collecting records and DJing for the pure love of music and the scene. Later on taking a keen interest in the roots of this predominantly UK sound. Whether it's Reggae, Disco, Hip-Hop or Soul, Yebsie has been adding to his collection over the years. Yebsie has recently moved from Bristol where he previously put on nights at various venues in the city and became a resident on Noods Radio. He now resides in Ipswich.
HZA's passion for music started early. He's been playing and sharing music with people all his life, more recently with like minded people in the local music scene whilst building a name for himself. HZA plays to various crowds at big and small venues and is known for his energetic sets. Whether it's a night of high energy dance music or a chilled two step vibe, he's always ready to deliver a memorable experience.
