Following the success of his first event, it was only right that he came back for another. “Return of the Boom Bap” is essentially a flashback to the golden era of hip hop, as well as the soulful and funky roots that bred it.

DYLAN JAY PRESENTS: RETURN OF THE BOOM BAP

A night digging deep into the golden era of hip hop as well as the soulful and funky roots that shaped it.

Brought to you by locally revered selectors and DJs JAL, a lifelong hip hop head and avid record collector. Boasting some serious crate digging knowledge, he's gonna be opening the set with his best selection of vinyl.

Followed up by DJ Jimmy Green, a true OG of the scene with over 30 years of experience behind the decks, having played alongside big names like Grandmaster Flash, Masta Ace and Maseo (De La Soul) just to name a few - Expect some serious cutting and scratching!

Then followed up by Dylan, a young and aspiring DJ, music producer & event curator with a deep fascination of music and a particular love for hip hop. Raised around a broad mix of genres, eras and cultures, his approach is simple: Bring people together to share incredible music, passion and nothing but good vibes.

“Return of the Boom Bap” is Dyl’s latest curated journey through the sounds that shaped him and so many other people.

This event is part of Smokehouse 10, celebrating 10 years of The Smokehouse venue.
