Punk helped slay the Prog Dragons. I mean, have you ever heard 'Tales from Topographic Oceans'? Punk was a blast of loud, snotty, accelerated fun with a capital Fuh. It needed to happen. Most of IDOL FRET experienced it first-hand. There's something about fast, hard riffs that raises hairs and pumps blood. That stuff stays with you. IDOL FRET deliver an eclectic mix of Punk tunes, some familiar, some deep cuts. What they have in common is a vibe, a sensibility, an attitude. A righteous two fingers to The Man (or, at least, your parents). IDOL FRET hopes to give fans and newbies alike a history of the who, what, why, when and how the songs fitted into the big picture.
The band is a mix of folks who probably should know better. Drummer Andrew bashed skins with bassman Shaun in Suffolk punk legends 13th Chime. Nick on Axe 1 twiddled with electro house duo Doi-oing back in the day, but always had guitars in his heart. Ewan on Axe 2 shredded with local band Shuck (weddings, parties, anything), but wants to scare the horses more. Lisa is our secret Siouxsie sauce, injecting some gothic pop sensibility. Carl is just living out his teenage dream, fronting a band before bits drop off.
