Suffolk’s sexagenarian noise-rock malcontents mark the occasion with the live launch their debut studio album – Do Not Resuscitate – an album 38 years in the making. With support on the night from labelmates Pound Land and Rev Simpkins.
Hailing from the Manchester area, Pound Land describe themselves as “post-industrial kitchen-sink punk-dirge absurdism for a dogshit-dull Britain”. Reviewers have described them as “a monotonous, gritty punk backdrop fed through a jazz night terror.”
By day, Matthew Simpkins is the vicar of Jaywick and St. James in Clacton-on-Sea. By night, he’s a boisterous presence on the East Anglian music scene, with eight albums under his cincture. The reverend will be joined by Manningtree’s largest star Ben Brown (SuperGlu/Dingus Khan) to perform songs from their 2023 collaboration Pissabed Prophet.
