Emerging in 2024 , Chest quickly demanded attention from industry figures and indie fans alike. Their releases gained radio support including play from local radio, BBC Radio 6 and BBC Radio 1. Taking strong influence from guitar driven 90s alt pop, Chest are lauded for creating a sound that is steeped in nostalgia while being intensely modern and novel. Merging inspiration from the likes of Catatonia and Superdrag with more contemporary influences such as Been Stellar and Inhaler, Chest are left with a dynamic and genre-defying sound.
The past twelve months has seen The Portland supporting the Stanleys on a sell-out tour and supporting The Hunna. Musically the band acknowledge an eclectic array of influences, including Pixies, Wunderhorse, Keo and Foals.
Sam Milne, is from Ipswich and plays original indie rock music with his backing band- the Tyrants.
