Baker's Dozen Radio Show is broadcast every Friday night on Ipswich Community Radio and is home to Local Sounds, a long-running spotlight on emerging talent from Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. On Saturday 12th September, Baker’s Dozen will move from the airwaves to the stage to introduce a handpicked selection of local artists featured on the show, live at The Smokehouse.

Baker's Dozen Radio Show Presents a showcase of up and coming talent from across the region as part of the Smokehouse 10th anniversary celebrations.

This event is part of Smokehouse 10, celebrating 10 years of The Smokehouse venue.

  Oscar November is the alternative project of UK artist Rory Hancock, built on the collision of organic performance and electronic production: live drums and soaring vocals set against distorted synth-bass and rich, cinematic textures. Drawing comparisons to Tame Impala, Radiohead, Bon Iver and Caribou, it's music aimed at listeners who value sonic depth over commercial immediacy.

  i.am.afiya is a singer, songwriter and producer from South London. She is a self-taught guitarist and pianist- who refuses to be put in a box- fusing genres across indie, trip-hop, rock and soul earning the label “indie-emo-soul” from The Line of Best Fit. The project began in 2020, where i.am.afiya wrote and produced her first EP ‘Song’s from Above’. Her music reflects her influences from Paramore, to Lianne La Havas, King Krule and Radiohead. Her full band's sound has been likened to Morcheeba, taking you on a psychedelic, soulful journey.

  LOOME is Suffolk artist Tomas Frankson, creating distinctive alt-pop from his home studio. With support from BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing and Spotify Editorial, plus performances at Latitude Festival, LOOME has built a growing fanbase across the UK and beyond. His latest album, YOUFORIA, released May this year has already clocked up over 150,000 streams, following a sold-out headline show at The Hunter Club Arts Centre.
