Girl Guide
All recorded to cassette tape aboard their houseboat on the Orwell River, Girl Guide knits a sonic world of lo-fi samples, live instruments, and synths chiming like sunken church bells. Sole member Moon Morrow’s songwriting is set in an intimate example of fantasy worldbuilding, alive with dreams, non-human perspectives, gender mutability, and weird horror. Their inspirations are: Mount Eerie, Ana Roxanne, Grouper, Elden Ring, Serial Experiments Lain, gothic romance, and the quiet places and sacred temples found in video games or the natural world. In various musical incarnations, Moon has supported Rothko (Bella Union), Mat Riviere (Brainlove), and Susan Bear (Lost Map) and put records out on Scottish indie OK Pal.
