Jimmy Green has been DJing for 30 years and making beats for longer than that. He started making pause mixes at age 11, started scratching on the family hi-fi in his early teens, then graduated to DJing in clubs when he was 18. He held down two radio shows a week at College (one Hip Hop show, one soul and funk show) and was the first DJ in the UK to play on live internet radio in 1997.

He has released nine LPs and three EPs with various collaborators and has remixed and scratched on tracks for artists such as Kool Keith, Hi-C, Bizarre (D12), Backwood Sweetie, Chino XL, and Melle Mel. In 2024 he won first place in the Resume Records competition to remix "Scratches, Cuts And The MCs Rhymes" featuring G.L.O.B.E. and Sha-Rock, as judged by Double D & Steinski on Billy Jam’s Hip Hop radio show in New York.

He is also a prolific mixtape DJ, most notably with the “Class of” series of Hip Hop mixes, the Marvin Gaye Mixtape (described by OkayPlayer as “one of the greatest Marvin themed mixes we’ve ever heard”), and most recently a series of UK Hip Hop mixtapes as endorsed by Bionic (London Posse), DJ Devastate (Demon Boyz), Blade, Sparkii, Mercury (Gunshot), and Dobie.

As a DJ he has supported and played alongside Grandmaster Flash, Masta Ace, Maseo from De La Soul, Akil from J5, Jehst, Kashmere, Chester P, and Huey Morgan.
