Simon Raymonde: In Conversation

Simon Raymonde joined Cocteau Twins age 20, in 1983 and remained until the band broke up 14 years later. A multi instrumentalist, he also contributed to the first two This Mortal Coil albums. He started the independent label Bella Union in 1997 initially with fellow Cocteau Twin Robin Guthrie and took the reins fully in 2001.

Discovering Fleet Foxes, Midlake, Laura Veirs, Beach House, Father John Misty etc the label is now in its 28th year! Simon recently published 'In One Ear: Cocteau Twins, Ivor and Me' a memoir about his time in the band and other stories!

“This is a wonderful book of pop music history. A man obsessed with the beauty of creative artists and wanting to create his own legacy and to enable other musicians to have a voice by releasing their magic. We need more of people like him in a world full of mass-produced mediocrity.” - Elton John

Simon will be speaking with Lottie Brazier, a musician and journalist from Suffolk, now living in London where she writes for publications such as The Quietus and The Wire.
