  • ‘A Decade of Antics' marks the 10 year anniversary of Samantics: a celebration of the moment when he found the thing to do with his in his life which at last made sense. To earn his slice of the infamous pie he’d tried teaching, graphic designing and being defecated on through a telephone but nothing had helped him understand the struggle of existing, until he created Samantics. Starting with just loop pedal, a ukulele and all the words he could find, he began playing every possible open mic, discovering the thrill and catharsis of performing, from expressing all the things he'd bottled up for so long. Over the next ten years a hobby became a career, developing and fine-tuning what has been increasingly described as one of the most energetic, heartfelt and honest stage shows people have seen. Those ten years have taken him to some of the biggest festivals in the UK, sharing stages and posters with bands and artists he'd grown up listening to and getting support and love from Radio 6's Steve Lamacq. Samantics has even spoken in the Houses of Parliament about the impact creativity can have on mental health. Even politicians listen to him. In these ten amazing years Samantics has made five studio albums, entirely by himself, focusing on his own unique voice, declining offers from labels and investors and relying solely on crowdfunding and backing from fans with each album reaching more and more people as his audience grew, as did his sound... and the dire amount of cables he would come to need.

Now, with everything he's learned from his journey and with all the noise making toys he picked up on the way, he is releasing a collection of songs carefully chosen from his earlier albums, all completely re-built and re-recorded from the ground up to create an even more authentic version of the sound and delivery he has become known for today with these songs finally finding their way onto vinyl.

For Samantics, to be able to create and perform as a means of survival still blows his mind and he knows it is something he will do for the rest of his life, should the universe be kind enough to allow it.

So now's the time to see what 10 years of writing, recording, grinding, performing, driving, touring, perspiring and forming a life worth enduring has created, in Samantics. He's very hard to describe and a lot better live.
